Area-based planning can help organize an early conversation, but it cannot account for windows, shading, insulation, outdoor design conditions, people, equipment, infiltration, outdoor air, or humidity. Do not represent this output as a Manual J or final design result.

What planning rate should I enter?
Use a rate with a documented project basis. This site does not supply a universal rate because climate, envelope, solar, occupancy, outdoor air, and humidity change the result.
Does the result tell me what duct size to use?
No. A preliminary load may inform an airflow estimate, but duct design also requires air-path, pressure, fitting, velocity, and equipment details.
